SEARCH PATTERN FOR MRI
First look at localizer to determine adequacy
No motion, wrap around
Can include some parts of body not included on other images
Go to T2FS images to look for fluid bright lesions
Go to T1FSC+ and look for internall mamary and axillary nodes, no distorsion, skin, nipples, thoracic cavity
Go to subtraction images
Peak sequence is the most important (2nd time point)
First look at breast tissue for mass and non-mass enhancement
If you see nothing, go through color CAD images
If you see something on subtraction, measure it in 3 planes, note distance from nipple in 2 planes, note quadrant/clock it is in, go to color images and look at kinetic images.
If finding requires a second look US, assign BIRADS according to if the second look US found nothing.
85% of breast CA is sporatic
If 1st degree relative had breast CA post menopausal, the risk is slightly less
