When assessing response to NAT, compare largest node size to prior exams.
Extranodal extension; indistinct or spiculated margins, matted appearance, and extranodal edema.
For internal mammary nodal involvement: intercostal space, side, size.
Abnormal nodes contralateral to known malignancy are rare w/ incidence of 6%. Aberrant or disrupted lymphatic drainage (after operative or radiation treatment) can result in contralateral nodal metastasis.
Intramammary nodes can be anywhere and are usually <1 cm in size and are considered axillary for staging puposes. Report morphology and size.
